 December2012 Nature Walk Negri-Nepote Native Grasslands Preserve, Franklin Township

Fun,informative, Fall Nature Walk to see 

 Birds of the Native Grassland Preserve

Comeexplore with the Lawrence Brook Watershed Partnership the Negri-Nepote NativeGrassland Preserve, part of Middlebush Greenway, in nearby FranklinTownship.  Here we will hopefully get a peek at some of the endangered,threatened & other unique bird species that frequent this unique grasslandhabitat.  Be sure to bring your field glasses!  We will walk close to3 miles through the preserve on marked trails ending at the bird blindoverlooking a restored marshland.

Meeting Location: Parking Lot on Skillmans Lane, located 1- 1/4 mileswest of Route 27.

Directions to Meeting Location: From New Brunswick, proceed west onFrench Street to Somerset Streeet (Rte. 27), proceed approx. 4 miles toSkillmans Lane where turn right & proceed as above.

From East Brunswick/Milltown, take Milltown Main Street north toMilltown Road.  At Georges Road. turnleft and then immediately right into Hermann Road.  After 0.8 miles turn left into LivingstonAvenue.  After 0.4 miles turn right intoHow Lane.  Proceed 1 mile to Route 27where turn left & after 1.2 miles turn right into Skillmans Lane &proceed as above.

From South Brunswick, or Princeton area, take Route 27 north to NorthBrunswick, passing Cozzens Lane on the right, the next left turn is SkillmansLane.  Take Skillmans Lane as above.

From South or North Brunswick take Route 1 and turn North on FinnegansLane or Cozzens Lane turning North-East (right) on Route 27 to Skillmans Laneon the left. Proceed as above.

We strongly recommend you dress with legs & armscovered & with strong shoes or boots as some pathways may be soft or wet.There will be a small charge of $5 ($3 for members & children) forinsurance.
