The Elm Tree at Central School

Picture
These photos tell the story of the beautiful and huge American elm that grew on the Central School property for 133 years before dying in 2006.
Fortunately, the Friends and the Environmental Commission were able to save and finish a piece of it to document the history it witnessed all those years.
It now resides in the front lobby of Central School for everyone to see.
As the tag on the tree says, "We hope it's legacy fosters a passion for science and history."
